Go slowly
The best trips are not measured by how many places you visited, but by what you remember afterwards. Our guides suggest one main experience a day and leave the rest of your time open for meals, rest and wandering.
Choose fewer stops. Give each one more attention.
Check before we write
Travel details change: opening hours, ticket rules, access and prices. For that reason we link to official sources at the end of our articles, and we tell you when to confirm details yourself before you travel.
We aim to state facts that we can point to, and to say clearly when something is our own suggestion rather than a fact. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.
What we promise
- Honest, plain guides. No hype, and no claims we cannot support.
- Sources you can open. Our articles link to the official pages we used.
- Flexible plans. Our itineraries are frameworks, not timetables.
- Respect for places and people. We encourage visitors to follow local rules, protect private property and leave places as they found them.
- Quiet, useful pages. We write to help you plan, not to rush you into a decision.
Who this is for
Elsewhere is for curious travelers: people who would rather spend an afternoon in a library, a quiet street or a small museum than join a long queue. Whether you travel alone, as a couple or with family, we hope our guides help you plan a trip that feels like yours.
